Hi! I’m Keenya Kelly, and I started The Social Infusion because I was exactly where you might be right now – successful professionally, but lonely personally.
I moved to Houston in May 2024 because I fell in love with the culture and missed having a real community. As a video marketing and social media strategist who built an online community of over 600,000 people, I knew how to connect people digitally. But when I got to Houston, working from home and not knowing anyone, I realized I needed to figure out how to connect people in real life.
I spent my first months here alone. Everyone was busy with their established social circles, and as someone working from home, I wasn’t naturally meeting people. I knew there had to be others feeling the same way.
So I did what I do best – I started creating content. I launched a brand new TikTok account focused specifically on Houston, sharing events and trying to connect with local people. My goal was modest: maybe 50 people would want to meet up.
What happened next blew my mind.
I created a simple Google form for people interested in meeting up. In just 3 weeks, over 1,200 people signed up. Clearly, I wasn’t the only one craving genuine connection in this city.
Our first official event in February 2025 had over 450 people show up. The second event? 800 people. In less than 6 months, we’ve built Houston’s most engaged social community.
But here’s what I’m most proud of: we’re not just throwing parties. We’re creating a safe space where people can show up authentically, make real friendships, and build the social life they’ve been craving.
Before focusing on community building, I spent 20 years in sales and even owned a company called Return of the Curls, where I hosted conventions at the Houston Convention Center with thousands of attendees. I understand what it takes to bring people together and create experiences that matter.
I also built an online community of over 600,000 people, teaching them how to use Instagram and TikTok to market their businesses. Now I’m using those same skills to help Houston professionals market themselves… to potential friends.
I’m not just the founder of this community – I’m also a member. I show up to these events because I want the same thing you want: real friendships, people to explore Houston with, and a social calendar that doesn’t revolve around work.
When you join The Social Infusion, you’re not just joining a community. You’re joining a movement of people who believe Houston deserves better than surface-level networking and impersonal meetups.
You’re joining a family.
